HOW THE CORN MILL WORKS

1. Water from the stream turns the water wheel which then drives the tall central shaft.

After use the water continues down a channel back to the stream.
2. Sacks of grain, brought from the farm, are hoisted through trap doors to the top floor. 3. The grain is then tipped in to the hopper.

It runs down the chute (4) and between the millstones (5).
4. The millstones can be adjusted to vary the coarse-ness of the flour.

After milling the flour descends another chute into a sack for despatch.
